Frequently Asked Questions

When will I get my check-in instructions?

Check-in instructions are emailed to you three weeks prior to arrival. As well, we place a paper copy of these instructions in the mail to you upon payment of the final balance.

What if I want the pool heated?

Pool heating is available in the fall, winter and spring months for an additional daily fee. Please make arrangements one week prior to your arrival so that it can be scheduled. Please note: not all pools have heaters.

When is my final payment due?

The due date is reflected on your confirmation and is three weeks prior to arrival. You will receive an emailed reminder one week prior to the due date; if we do not hear otherwise from you prior to the due date, the balance will automatically post to the credit card on file.

How far is it to the beach?

Not far! Specifics about each home can be found on our website. Distance to the beach is noted there measured by walking steps. You can also locate home on the Google Map provided there.

Are there linens in the home?

Yes. We provide pot holders, kitchen towels, all bed linens, and 2 bath towels, 2 hand and 2 wash towels per person. Other than the luxury collection homes, most DO NOT provide beach towels.

Does the home have beach towels and toys?

A few homes supply beach towels and toys but most do not. You may want to bring umbrellas, bicycles and baby equipment or rent them from a local supplier. We recommend arranging any baby and beach gear before you get here. Call us for specific info on your home.

What should I purchase locally?

Toilet tissue, dishwashing detergent, laundry detergent, paper towels, kitchen garbage bags and sunscreen. We provide 1 roll of paper towels in the kitchen and 2 rolls of toilet tissue per bathroom as well as travel sized personal amenities like soap and shampoo…just enough for the first day or so.

Are there grocery stores nearby?

Yes! There are three Publix grocery stores in the area, as well as a small Wal-Mart Supercenter in Santa Rosa Beach and a Winn Dixie in both Miramar Beach and Inlet Beach. We have a map in the Vacation Home Book which pinpoints the locations, along with street addresses and phone numbers.

May I ship items to my vacation home?

Please do not ship items to the vacation home. All shipments need to be sent to our office. Be sure to put your name, vacation home and dates you will be there on the box. Our shipping address is: Sunburst Beach Vacations, 59 Canal Street, Santa Rosa Beach FL 32459. Our office is centrally located in Seagrove Beach and is open daily until 5PM CST.

Will there be sharp knives in the kitchen?

Probably not. We do, however, strive to provide a knife sharpener in every home.

Will there be hair dryers in the home?

Yes, all of our homes do provide at least one hair dryer.

Are spices provided in my vacation home?

No. While there may be salt & pepper shakers in the home, typically no food items are left in the home after guest departure.

Is there internet in the home?

Yes, all of our homes are equipped with wireless internet; however, it is not as fast as you probably have at home or at work. As we like to say, this ain’t the big city and the more people in town, the slower it gets! Don’t plan on doing any data streaming.

Will my cell phone work at the beach?

Yes, but reception tends to be spotty in certain areas. AT&T customers tend to have the worst time during Spring Break. T-Mobile is especially spotty.

May I request an early arrival or late departure?

You may ask! However, during our Spring Break and Summer rate seasons, we are unable to offer either early arrivals or late departures, as our vacation homes will be turning to new guests each weekend. In the other seasons, we are happy to offer an early arrival or late departure if we are able. Please contact us a couple of days prior to either arrival or departure to make arrangements.

I have an early flight and will arrive hours before check-in time. What do I do with my stuff?

You are welcome to bring any luggage and/or vehicles to our office; we are here daily until 5PM CST and are centrally located in Seagrove Beach. We do not allow anything be taken to your vacation home prior to check-in time. We cannot be held responsible for unattended items left in vacation homes prior to our 4PM CST check-in time.

Can I park at my vacation home before check-in?

No.

Can I leave a car at my vacation home after check-out time?

No.

Is there somewhere we can ride bicycles while there on vacation?

Yes! There is a bike/walking path that runs parallel to the entire length of Scenic 30A (18.2 miles). While pedestrians have the right-of-way crossing 30A (be sure to stop & look both ways for traffic, however!), cyclists are subject to the same road rules as vehicles.

Can I cancel my stay?

Cancellations will be allowed up to 90 days in most homes prior to the beginning date of the reservation (with the exception of the following homes which have an 180 day cancellation window - Azure Leisure, Andalusia, Mer Sea, Sea Vous Play and Thyme After Thyme). A $100.00 cancellation fee will be withheld from any refund of Advance Rent Deposit. Refunds will be processed via check (not credited back to your card). If cancellations are made with less than 90-180 days remaining, the Advance Rent Deposit will not be refunded.

What if the home I’m renting is for sale?

In the event that the property which you are renting is for sale, we may find it necessary to show the property during your stay. We will make every effort to schedule the showing at a convenient time so as not to interrupt your vacation. If the home you have rented is sold and no longer available, we will contact you by telephone or e-mail discuss other possible vacation homes. If we have no suitable alternative, we will refund all monies paid.

Will there be construction around my vacation home?

There is a possibility of either new construction or renovation projects in older homes. We are a booming beach community! We can neither predict nor control the level of noise that may or may not occur during your stay.

Will the bedrooms have black out shades?

Not likely. While a handful of the homes have true black out shades, many of our vacation homes only have privacy window treatments that allow varying levels of light to filter through. Some bedrooms have accent windows up high that have no window covering at all. Many homes have white curtains that are private, but do filter light. The sun rises early here – 5:45am in the summer. If you cannot sleep except in total darkness, we would suggest that you bring an eye mask.

What is the lost and found policy?

Sunburst Beach Vacations is not responsible for lost or misplaced items. However, any items turned into our office are held for 30 days. If you identify an item as yours, we will be happy to ship them via UPS Ground delivery for a shipping and handling fee of $25.00 (unless postage and handling is more). After 30 days, all unclaimed personal items are donated to charity.
